    • Dr. Claire Richards shares her program of research on energy insecurity and its relationship to climate breakdown. Dr. Richards then discusses different approaches to describing and addressing co-occurring power outages, wildfire, and extreme heat in the Pacific Northwest.

      Learning Objectives:

      1. Distinguish acute and chronic forms of energy insecurity and what is known about how they relate to structural and social determinants of health.
      2. Understand challenges with available data to conduct surveillance of energy insecurity.
      3. Discuss potential community-based interventions to protect human health in the context of energy insecurity and climate breakdown.
