  • This workshop series covers basic information that all nurses should know about common toxic exposures in our homes and other environments. Compare and contrast the sciences of toxicology and pharmacology. Explore two new initiatives for cancer prevention - one for children and one for breast cancer. Be introduced to the 6-Classes approach to organizing toxic chemicals. Consider nurses roles in assessing and addressing common toxic exposures.

    2. Advocate for children’s environmental health policies
    3. Describe the major elements of a statewide plan to prevent environmentally-related breast cancer
    4. Advocate for breast cancer prevention policies
